Sour Milk Cake

Ingredients

• Vo cupful butter
• % cupful sour milk
• 2 cupfuls brown sugar
• i^ cupful cold water
• 2 squares chocolate
• 21^ cupfuls flour
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoonful soda

Method

   Cream the butter, add the sugar and beat until the mixture is creamy and light, then add the chocolate which has been melted over hot water.

   Stir in the beaten egg yolks.

   Sift the flour and soda together and add to the batter alternately with the milk and water.

   Bake in layers and use brown sugar filling between the layers and a chocolate icing on top.
