Add the sugar and beat thoroughly. Sift the dry ingredients together, add the raisins and then combine the egg yolks with the left-over coffee. Alternately add the flour and the coffee mixture. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and bake in a loaf 45 minutes in a moderate oven. Apple Cake 1 cupful sugar 1 tablespoonful cocoa % cupful apple sauce 1 teaspoonful cinnamon % cupful sour cream % teaspoonful cloves 1% teaspoonfuls soda 1 cupful raisins 2 cupfuls flourApple Cake Mix the sugar, sour cream and the apple sauce together and add the soda to this mixture. Stir in the other ingredients, chopping and flouring the raisins.
