Mrs. Turner's Small Cakes

Ingredients

• 3-4 cups of butter
• 1 cup of sweet milk
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
• Whites of 8 eggs
• 2 large cups powdered sugar
• 3 cups of flour
• 1-2 teaspoon soda

Method

1. 1

   Cream butter and sugar well, add milk with soda dissolved, add flour which has been sifted four times with cream of tartar and baking powder, add whites of eggs beaten stiff, flavor lemon juice.

   Bake in sheets, cut in desired shapes, split and fill with cream filling, ice sides and top with boiled icing.
