I cup milk. 1 teaspoon lemon. 3 eggs. This also makes a nice layer cake, with jelly or chocolate between layers. FOUNTAIN CAKE. 1 cup butter. 2 cups flour. 2 cups sugar. 1 teaspoon cream tartar. 1 cup milk. i teaspoon soda. 6 yolks of eggs. 1 teaspoon any flavoring. Mix the above; stir in quickly the well=beaten whites of 4 of the eggs, reserving the whites of 2 for the frost- ing. Bake in loaves, and as soon as done cover with frosting.
