CHOCOLATE CAKE No. 1. Two eggs, beaten separately, 14% cups of Ps yellow sugar, lard or dripping the size of an egg, % cup of cocoa, 1 teaspoon - vanilla, 1 cup sour milk, a level teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups flour. Add beaten egg, whites last. Bake in a moderate oven.—Miss E. Fisher, Ganon- oque, Ontario. . ; CHOCOLATE CAKE No. 2. One and one-quarter cups sugar, 2 eggs, | 1 cup sour cream, 3 small tablespoons cocoa, 1 teaspoon of soda, 2 cups flour. Mix eggs and sugar until-creamy and thick, then stir in flour. Mix sour cream and soda and add to mixture lastly cocoa, mix well. Use hot oven.—Mrs. F. Levergood, Harrow, Ontario.
