White Cake with Caramel Filling

Ingredients

• 6 egg whites
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup butter (scant)
• 3 cups flour
• 1 cup milk
• 2 t-spoons Royal baking pow-
• 1 t-s-poon vanilla

Method

   Cream butter and half sugar together thoroughly.

   Add balance of sugar to stiffly beaten egg whites.

   Beat well.

   Add flour sifted three times with baking powder alternately with milk.

   Fold in whites last.

   Bake in moderate oven.
