Violet Water Take same weight in fresh violets and alcohol; place in a large bottle, and cork tightly. Shake daily for ten days; then add a pint of rain water. Next strain and bottle. Cold Cream Melt together a drachm of beeswax, an ounce of sperma- ceti, and two ounces of almond oil; then add a little green cam- phor. Pour while warm in small jars, and set away to cool. Essence of Violets Produce three-quarters of a pound of Florentine orris root and an imperial pint of rectified spirits
