Vegetarian Dish

Ingredients

• Half a pint of Kidney Beans
• Two Carrots
• Two Turnips
• One Onion
• One head of Celery
• One pint of Milk
• Half a dozen Mushrooms
• Pepper
• Salt
• Juice of Lemon
• Mashed Potatoes

Method

1. 1

   Wash, slice, scald, and blanch the vegetables.

   Place in a stewpan and stew in milk until tender.

   Turn into a pie dish, season with pepper and salt.

   Lay blanched mushrooms on top, sprinkle with parsley and lemon juice.

   Place butter on top and cover with mashed potatoes.

   Brown in a hot oven.

   Serve hot with melted butter.
