Turnip Salad - Country Style

Ingredients

• in half pot water
• Boil meat, (hog jole if you have it, if not any good side meat)
• a pinch of soda
• add salad which has been picked carefully and washed thoroughly

Method

   Boil meat until tender.

   While boiling, add salad, salt, and soda after the pot has begun to boil again.

3. 3

   Keep salad pressed under water and boil until tender, about twenty minutes.

4. 4

   Remove pot from fire, dish up the salad, and press all the water from it.

5. 5

   Chop very fine, skim the grease from the pot, and add to the salad.
