Turkey Dressed with Oysters

Ingredients

• 4 cups bread crumbs
• 1/2 cup of butter cut in bits
• 1 teaspoon summer savory
• pepper
• salt
• a pint of oysters

Method

1. 1

   For a 10-pound turkey, mix bread crumbs, butter, savory, pepper, and salt.

   Rub the turkey inside and out with salt and pepper, then fill with a spoonful of crumbs, then oysters.

   Cook the giblets, chop fine and put in gravy.

   A fowl of this size will require 3 hours in a moderate oven.
