To Can Corn

Ingredients

• one heaping teaspoonful of salt
• one-half of a level teaspoonful of soda
• Select young, tender corn, cut twice from the cob, never scraping

Method

1. 1

   Cut corn from the cob, add salt and soda to each half gallon.

   Put corn in jars, fit rubbers on, and place jars in a vessel deep enough to allow water to cover the tops.

   Boil for three hours, then tighten the tops and wrap in brown paper.
