Sweet Potatoes en Casserole

Ingredients

• 5 large sweet potatoes
• 3 tablespoonfuls butter
• 4 ripe apples
• % cupful brown sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls salt
• % cupful hot water

Method

   Boil sweet potatoes until tender.

   Cool and remove skins.

   Cut into thin slices.

   Slice apples thinly and arrange alternate layers of apples and sweet potatoes in a buttered casserole.

   Sprinkle layers with brown sugar, salt, and butter.

   Add hot water and bake until apples are cooked and top is browned.
