Sultana Cake

Ingredients

• Half a pound of Flour
• Quarter of a pound of Sultanas
• Three ounces of Dripping
• Three ounces of castor Sugar
• One Egg
• Salt
• One gill of Milk
• A teaspoonful of Baking-powder
• One and a half ounces of Candied Peel

Method

1. 1

   Sift flour into a basin, add baking-powder and salt; rub in dripping until lump-free.

   Add cleaned fruit and candied peel, then sugar.

   Beat egg with milk, stir into mixture, pour into a greased tin, and bake for about an hour.
