Stewed Mussels

Ingredients

• Prepare the mussels as in foregoing recipe
• add a blade of mace
• sufficient of their own liquor to cover them

Method

1. 1

   Prepare the mussels as in the foregoing recipe, put them into a saucepan with sufficient of their own liquor to cover them, add a blade of mace, and stir gently for ten minutes.

   Then stir in a thickening of flour and a little dripping.

   When the flour is well cooked, put the mussels on a hot dish with toast or rice round them.
