Steak from the Beef Round

Ingredients

• 3 — 4 lbs. round steak
• Salt
• pepper
• % lb. of butter
• % cup of water
• 1 onion

Method

   Cut the meat into slices 0.5 inch thick and pound slightly.

   Heat the butter, slice and fry the onion until light yellow, then remove.

   Place the salted and peppered meat into the hot onion butter and fry for 5 to 8 minutes until light brown, turning once or twice.

   Serve the meat on a hot platter with onions on top, and pour a little boiled water from the pan over it.
