Sift the salt and baking powder with the flour. Add the milk gradually to the sugar mixture, then the well beaten egg, then the vanilla, then the flour gradually to make a soft dough. Turn out on a floured board and roll a small portion at a time to J^ inch thickness. Cut with a floured cookie cutter, place on buttered pan and bake in a hot oven until slightly brown (about 10 minutes). Makes 4 dozen cookies. {Basis for 2 girls, }4 rule.) 2.
