Silver White Layer Cake

Ingredients

• 2% cups cake flour
• 4 t. baking powder
• % cup butter
• % t. lemon extract
• 1% cups sugar
• 1% t. salt
• 1 t. vanilla
• 2-3 cup milk

Method

   Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

   Add butter, vanilla, lemon extract, and milk.

   Beat vigorously with spoon for 2 minutes.

   Add 0.33 cup milk and 0.67 cup unbeaten egg whites.

   Mix thoroughly.

   Pour batter into prepared pans.

   Bake in moderate oven 300 F.

   25 minutes.
