Scones

Ingredients

• one-fourth pound butter
• one quart sifted flour
• two heaping teaspoons baking powder
• enough sweet milk

Method

   Rub butter and enough sweet milk to make a smooth paste into the flour and baking powder.

   Roll out to one-fourth inch thickness, cut into triangular cakes each side about four inches long, lay on buttered tin, and bake in hot oven.

   When half done, brush over with sweet milk.
