Quick Cake on Electric Mixer

Ingredients

• 1% cups sifted plain flour
• l|3 cup shortening (part butter for flavor)
• % teaspoon salt
• 2)3 cup milk
• 2!/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon flavoring

Method

   Be sure all ingredients are at room temperature.

   Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder together.

   Add shortening, milk, unbeaten egg, and flavoring all at once.

   Beat for two minutes, scraping down sides and bottom of bowl.

   Pour into greased and floured pan.

   Bake for 25 to 35 minutes in 350 degree oven.
