Would not be without it now. BOSTON BAKED BEANS. Two cups of white beans, cover with cold water, let come to a boil and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Pour off water and wash thoroughly with cold water. Put beans in small crock. Add X lb. salt fat pork and on top of the rest of the beans sprinkle over them % teaspoon mustard and 3 tablespoons dark molasses. Cover with water and bake slowly 5 or 6 hours; add more water if needed. Crock should be covered while beans are cooking. Put a tablespoon of butter in a sauce pan, a tablespoon of flour, mix; add a half pint of sweet milk, a little salt and pepper and stir constantly until it boils. Pour this sauce over the cauliflower; sprinkle over a half cup of bread crumbs; put on a few bits of butter and bake in a quick oven about 15 minutes, or till the bread is brown. — Mrs. David E.
