POOR MAN’S CAKE 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup raisins 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup cold water 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon soda 2 teaspoons cocoa Boil above ingredients for 3 minutes then cool. When cold add the following: 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon baking powder (1 cup nuts if desired)
