Plain Plum Pudding

Ingredients

• 2 cups bread crumbs
• 1 teaspoon of spices
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 2 cups seeded raisins
• 1 cup chopped suet
• 1 cup of flour
• 2 cups milk or water
• 2 cups washed currants
• 3 cups sugar

Method

   Mix all ingredients to make a stiff batter; if too thick, add more water, if too thin, add more flour; stir in baking powder, tie loosely in a pudding cloth, and boil for 4 hours.

   Serve with lemon pudding sauce.
