Oatmeal Pudding

Ingredients

• two ounces of fine Scotch oatmeal
• a half teacupful of sweet milk
• two teacupfuls of boiling sweet milk
• two ounces of sifted bread crumbs
• one ounce of butter
• one or two well beaten eggs

Method

   Mix oatmeal in sweet milk; add boiling sweet milk.

   Sweeten to taste, stir over fire for ten minutes; then add bread crumbs, stir until stiff, then add butter and beaten eggs.

   Flavor with lemon or nutmeg, and bake in buttered dish slowly for one hour.
