Musk Cakes

Ingredients

• One qt. milk
• }^ pound butter
• flour enough to make a dough
• salt according to taste
• ^ pint of yeast
• Indian meal sufficient to thicken the milk

Method

   Boil the milk, stir in Indian meal mixed with cold milk to make a thick mush.

   Add butter and salt while hot; when lukewarm, stir in yeast and enough flour to form a dough.

   Cover and let rise.

   When light, shape into biscuits, place in buttered pans, and bake in a hot oven.
