Molasses Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup sour milk
• 1 cup molasses
• 3 cups flour
• 1/2 cup meal
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ginger
• 3 eggs

Method

   Beat eggs separately, dissolve soda in milk.

   Add spices to flour and meal.

   Cream butter and sugar, add beaten yolks, stir in molasses, milk, flour, and spices.

   Lastly, fold in beaten whites.

   Bake in pound cake pans or layers.
