Mis' Sallie's Candied Yams

Ingredients

• 4 or 5 large sweet potatoes
• 3-4 cup water
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1-2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1-2 cup butter
• 1-2 teaspoon salt

Method

   Wash and peel yams, cut lengthwise in 1/4 inch slices.

   Place in baking pan with water, boil until tender.

   Sprinkle with sugar, salt, and nutmeg, dot with butter, and bake until syrup forms, about 15-20 minutes.
