Milk Toast

Ingredients

• 3 Pints of Milk
• 1 Loaf of Bread
• 1/2 Lb. of Butter
• 1/2 Lb. of Lard
• Flour
• Pepper
• Salt
• Sugar
• Cinnamon

Method

   Cut the bread into slices and toast them.

   Heat the milk in a saucepan.

   In a separate pan, melt the butter and lard, then add flour to make a thickening.

   Combine the heated milk with the thickening, and season with salt, pepper, sugar, and cinnamon.

   Pour the mixture over the toasted bread and serve.
