Milan Cakes (Small)

Ingredients

• 4 oz of butter
• 3 tablespoonfuls of caster sugar
• 4 wineglassfuls of brandy
• one beaten egg
• 1 lb of flour

Method

   Warm the butter and beat it with caster sugar until creamy.

   Mix in brandy, beaten egg, and flour.

   Roll out as thinly as possible, cut into small diamond-shaped cakes, brush with beaten egg, lay on buttered baking-sheets, and bake in a brisk oven.
