Illinois Cake

Ingredients

• 5 eggs
• 2 cupfuls of sugar
• 1 cupful of butter
• 2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder
• 3 cupfuls of flour
• 1 cupful of sweet milk
• Flavor with, vanilla.

Method

   For filling, dissolve 1 cup of sugar in enough water to dissolve it; put in a pan and let simmer on the stove until it candies.

   Then chop fine, 1 cupful of seedless raisins.

   Stir into the candied sugar, then add the beaten whites of 2 eggs; flavor with vanilla.
