Hearne Saver for Wounds

Ingredients

• Pint olive-oil
• half ounce common resin
• half ounce beeswax
• three-eighths of a pound
• two scruples pulverized camphor

Method

1. 1

   Melt olive oil, resin, and beeswax together.

   Bring oil to boiling heat, gradually add pulverized red lead until the mixture becomes brown or shining black.

   Remove from fire, and when nearly cold, add pulverized camphor.

   Spread thinly on tissue-paper or fine linen for use on frost sores or hard-to-heal wounds.
