Gnocchi alla Romana (Gnocchi of Farina or Corn Meal)

Ingredients

• i cup farina or com meal
• i egg
• Butter and grated cheese
• I pint of milk, or half milk and half water

Method

   Boil milk, salt it, and add farina gradually while stirring.

   Remove from heat and add butter, cheese, and beaten egg.

   Spread on a board, cool, cut into shapes, layer in a buttered dish, and bake until browned.
