Fine Toilet Soap

Ingredients

• two gallons rain water
• one and one-half pound unslacked lime
• three pounds salsoda
• one-half pound rosin
• one-half pound of Paris whiting
• two ounces of beef gall
• one ounce rosmary oil

Method

   Boil rain water with lime and salsoda for half an hour and let settle.

   Pour off clear lye and add grease, rosin, and borax.

   Boil for one hour, then add whiting and beef gall, stirring well.

   When partly cold, add rosemary oil.

FINE TOILET SOAP. Take two gallons rain water, one and one-half pound unslacked lime and three imunds salsoda. Boil half an hour and let it settle. Pour off the clear lye, and add to it three pounds clean grease, one-half pound rosin and borax the size of a walnut. Boil one hour, then add one-half pound of Paris whiting, and two ounces of beef gall, and stir well. When partly cold add one ounce rosmary oil
