Dressing for Fish

Ingredients

• a pint of bread crumbs
• a teaspoon of sweet marjoram
• the same of sweet basil
• a quarter of a pound of butter

Method

   Prepare the dressing by mixing bread crumbs with pepper, salt, chopped onion, marjoram, basil, and melted butter.

   Make deep incisions in the fish, fill with the dressing, season the outside with pepper and salt, dust with flour, baste with butter and hot water, and bake for three-quarters of an hour in a hot oven.
