Devil's Food Cake. No. 2. 2 cupfuls brown or white sugar; y2 cup butter; Y2 cup lard; 2 eggs; 1 cup buttermilk; 3 cups flour; iy2 teaspoonfuls cinnamon; y2 teaspoon allspice; y2 cake of ground chocolate, with enough hot water to make y2 cup; y2 teaspoon soda.
