Delicious Fig Layer Cake Three eggs, two cups of sugar, one cup of butter, one cup of sweet milk, three cups of flour, one teaspoonful of soda, two teaspoonfuls of cream tartar; cream butter; add gradually the sugar, then add the beaten yolks of eggs and beat well; sift flour with soda and cream tartar; add to the cream mixture with the milk, flavor with one teaspoonful of vanilla; fold in the stiffly beaten whites of eggs and bake in layers. Filling — One pound of figs chopped fine, one cup of sugar and cup of milk
