Danish Rolls

Ingredients

• 1 cup milk
• 5 lb. butter
• 5 cup sugar
• 3 yeast cakes
• 2 eggs
• Flour to mike stiff dough

Method

   Warm milk, add sugar and well beaten eggs, also yeast cakes that have been dissolved in some of the milk.

   Cut butter in three pieces, roll in one piece at a time and allow to cool in refrigerator for 10 minutes before repeating with other two pieces of butter.

   Roll out on floured board, cut in one-half inch wide strips.

   Take each strip and twist into a round roll, put in buttered baking sheet, let rise until double its size.

   Brush with beaten egg, sugar and chopped nuts, if desired, bake in moderate oven.
