Crisp Fruit or Nut Cookies

Ingredients

• y2 cup Crisco or other good shortening
• 1 cup flour
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 cup brown sugar
• Vi tsp. soda
• 1 ego-
• V-i tsp. salt

Method

   Cream shortening and sugar, add unbeaten egg, cream good.

   Flour, salt and sugar sifted together and added, then add 0.5 cup dry mince meat cut fine or 0.5 cup nuts.

   Drop with teaspoon on greased baking sheet about 12 to a baking sheet and bake at 375 for about 12 or 15 minutes.

   Let cool for a few minutes before taking off baking sheet.
