Corn-meal Griddle Cakes

Ingredients

• two cups of boiling milk
• one cup of corn meal
• half-cup of flour
• two eggs
• one tablespoonful of butter
• one tablespoonful of molasses
• one heaping teaspoonful of baking-powder
• salt-spoonful of salt

Method

   Pour boiling milk over corn meal.

   When cool, add melted butter, molasses, salt, flour, and beaten eggs.

   Thin with cold milk if batter is too stiff.
