Siiver Cake.— 14 cup butter 2 cups sugar, the whites of 8 eggs, % cup milk, o/almond^6^ ^ ^^spoo^ful soda, 1 ditto cream tartar, 1 spoonful essence Jumbles — 1 cup sugar, 1 of good butter rubbed to a cream, y2 cup sour cream, 1 well Deaten egg 1 teaspoonful soda dissolved in a very little hot water: flavor with nutmeg ; sifted flour enough to make a soft dough or batter.
