Citron Cake (1)

Ingredients

• lib. of butter
• lib. 2oz. of sugar
• lib. 4oz. of flour
• six eggs
• the yolks of four
• 4oz. of green Citron

Method

   Warm the butter and mix it with the sugar; when well worked together, add the flour, six eggs, and the yolks of four.

   Cut the Citron into long shavings, layer these alternately with the cake mixture in a papered tin, and bake in a slow oven.
