Bake in slow oven and cut in squares while hot. — Mrs. Lloyd Griffin. —121— Cookies and Small Cakes Thursday Club Delicacies Date Cakes 2 cups flour 4 level tsp. baking powder r/2 tsp. cinnamon % tsp. nutmeg Yi cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 cup dates Vi cup milk Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, well beaten and then the milk in alternation with the flour to which the spices and baking powder have been added. Add dates, stoned and cut in pieces.
