Chocolate Drop Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup fat
• 2 squares chocolate
• 1-1/2 cups sifted flour
• 1 cup brown sugar
• | teaspoon salt
• 4 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup nuts, chopped
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 to 1/2 cup milk

   Melt fat and chocolate over hot water.

   Sift flour, sugar, salt, and leavening together.

   Stir in nuts.

   Add melted fat and chocolate, beaten egg, and vanilla to the dry ingredients with enough milk to make a stiff drop batter.

   Drop with a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 400° F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
