Checkerboard Sandwiches

Ingredients

• Cut the crust from loaves of white and brown bread
• cut these lengthwise into slices one inch thick
• and these into strips one inch wide
• Spread with butter flavored with grated cheese
• and a little red pepper

Method

   Cut crusts from bread, slice into uniform blocks, and alternate colors in a 3x3 block formation.

   Spread with butter mixed with cheese and red pepper, then chill before slicing.

CHECKERBOARD SANDWICHES.
