Bread Pudding

Ingredients

• 4 cups milk
• 1 cup stale diced bread
• 1 cup sugar
• 4 eggs
• ½ cup butter (melted)
• ½ cup seedless raisins
• ¾ teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

   Separate the eggs, reserving the whites for meringue.

   Beat the yolks and add warmed milk, sugar, raisins, salt, and vanilla.

   Grease a pudding dish, layer diced bread, pour custard over, and add melted butter.

   Bake in a water bath until set.

   Cover with meringue and brown in the oven.
