Boiled Cake (Eggless)—1 cup brown sugar, 14 cup shortening, 1 cup cold water, 14 teaspoon salt, 4% teaspoon each Blue Ribbon nutmeg, cin- namon, mace, 1 cup raisins. Boil these ingredients 3 minutes and cool. Add 2 cups flour, 4% teaspoon Blue Ribbon baking powder, and 1 tea- spoon Blue Ribbon soda
