Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

• 1 c. shortening
• 1/2 c. chopped nuts
• 5 c. sugar
• 1/2 c. mashed bananas
• 1 egg
• 1 c. Kelloggs All-Bran
• 1 1/2 c. flour
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 3 tsp. salt
• 5 tsp. soda
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2 tsp. water

Method

   Cream shortening and sugar.

   Add egg and beat well.

   Add All-Bran.

   Sift flour and dry ingredients together.

   Add alternately with bananas to which the water has been added.

   Vanilla and nuts folded in.

   Pour in a greased loaf tin and let stand 20 minutes.

   Bake in a 350 degree oven for one hour.
