General Rules. Sift flour before measuring. Sift again with the baking powder and salt. Cut in the fat with two knives. Butter, lard, crisco, drippings, or chicken fat may be used. Half butter and half lard is a good com- bination. Add the liquid quickly. Toss and roll lightly on a floured board to | inch in thickness. Cut, moisten tops with milk, and bake 12-15 minutes in a hot oven.
