TOMATO JUICE Wash ripe tomatoes, cut in small pieces, and simmer in small quantities until just soft enough to put through fine sieve. Bring juice to boiling point and pour into hot sterilized jars or bottles. Seal. Seasonings may be added to taste while cookingTomato Juice, such as celery tops, bit of bay leaf, a few cloves, etc. Use for soups and sauces as well as cocktails. ~SAVORY TOMATO JUICE 1 peck tomatoes V4 cup salt 4 large onions, sliced 14 cup sugar 1 bunch of celery, cut in pieces 4 teaspoon pepper 2 green peppers, cut in pieces ¥ teaspoon basil, if desired WSavory Tomato Juiceash tomatoes but do not peel.
