Ingredients

• 2 cups butter
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 6 eggs, beaten well
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 3 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Method

1. 1

   Cream butter and sugar, stir in eggs, add milk, soda and cinnamon, stir thoroughly and work in flour to a smooth dough.

   Roll out into thin sheets, cut into narrow strips, twist into fancy shapes, and drop into deep boiling fat.

   When a rich mahogany color, remove, drain on brown paper, and dust with powdered sugar.
