Ingredients

Method

1. 1

   Sift flour into a plate and measure as directed.

   Mix flour with a small amount of milk to form a paste.

3. 3

   Gradually add more milk until the mixture is like thin cream.

   Heat the remaining milk in a saucepan, add the flour mixture, and stir constantly until it boils.

   Add butter, salt, and pepper just before removing from heat.
